Architectural Job Captain M-F, 8AM – 5PM Full-time - 40 hrs/wk.
The Architectural Job Captain is responsible for developing and assisting in the day to day operations of the office. Primary responsibility is the production of documents and coordination with consultants. Duties include: Production of architectural documents in all phases of the design process ranging from Schematic Design through Construction Documents. Communicate with clients, engineers and contractors/subcontractors to provide a well-coordinated and efficient set of documents. Assist in the creation and maintenance of company graphic standard details and libraries. Educate junior staff in adhering to company standards assist in the design of projects as required through interaction with the principal. Strive to achieve efficient and creative solutions that respond to the client’s needs and budget. Relay the design intent to junior staff and monitor its institution in the documents. Assist in observation of construction and problem solving as related to unforeseen field issues and coordination. Discuss issues involving design intent with the principal before presenting a solution to the contractor.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and three (3) years of practical architectural drafting experience. Architectural experience must include three (3) years of moderate Revit designing/drafting using Revit; experience with Central files; and work sharing. Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Architecture and one (1) year of architectural experience which includes moderate designing/drafting using Revit; experience with Central files; and work sharing.
